Hospitals compare notes on how to safely remove breathing tubes
NCT ID NCT05271786
Summary
This study aimed to improve the process of removing breathing tubes (tracheostomies) from patients who no longer need them. Researchers looked back at the medical records of 192 adult patients to compare how different hospitals manage this process. The main goal was to test a scoring system (called QSQ) that might help doctors decide when it's safe to remove the tube.
