Doctors map out common breathing tube practices in turkish hospitals

NCT ID NCT07404592

Summary

This study aimed to understand how and why doctors perform tracheostomies (a procedure to create an opening in the windpipe) on very sick patients in intensive care units. Researchers observed 30 patients across seven hospitals in Izmir, Turkey, on a single day to record the techniques used and any complications. The goal was to gather real-world information to see how these procedures relate to patient survival over the following month.
