Silver vs. standard dressings: which better protects Kids' skin after breathing surgery?

NCT ID NCT07392294

Summary

This study tested whether a silver-coated foam dressing works better than a standard foam dressing to prevent skin problems around the breathing tube site in children. Fifty children (ages 0-18) having tracheostomy surgery were randomly assigned one of the two dressings and followed for one month. Researchers measured how many children developed skin complications like pressure sores or infections.
