Simple cough test could help patients breathe on their own sooner

NCT ID NCT07317791

Summary

This study aims to validate a simple breathing test to help doctors safely remove tracheostomy tubes (breathing tubes in the neck). It will test if measuring a patient's cough strength while the tube is still in place can accurately predict if they can breathe without it. The goal is to provide a safer, more acceptable method for patients, especially in China, to transition off their breathing tubes.
