Scientists probe why windpipe narrows—and how to stop it from coming back

NCT ID NCT07463742

Summary

This study aims to understand why some people's windpipes narrow (tracheal stenosis) and how the tissue heals after standard procedures to open it. Researchers will compare two common surgical techniques in 40 patients and analyze tiny tissue samples to see how genes change during healing. The goal is to learn what biological processes lead to better long-term results and potentially guide future treatments.
