Summary

This study follows 500 adults over age 65 who are getting a new implantable defibrillator (ICD) for the first time. Researchers will track their health, daily function, and quality of life for 18 months, with optional follow-up up to 10 years. The goal is to learn how patients fare after the procedure and to improve how doctors and patients make decisions together about ICD therapy.
