Researchers probe dangerous blood pressure drops after knee surgery
NCT ID NCT07002086
Summary
This study aimed to understand why some older patients experience sudden drops in heart rate and blood pressure when a surgical tourniquet is released after knee replacement surgery. Researchers monitored 22 patients aged 65-90 to measure changes in blood clotting, inflammation, and vital signs. The goal was to identify the causes of this reaction and explore ways to prevent it in future surgeries.
