New lens study aims to sharpen vision for kids with cataracts

NCT ID NCT07088796

Summary

This study tested a special type of lens implant (toric IOL) in children aged 3-8 who had cataracts and significant astigmatism. The goal was to see if these lenses could provide better, clearer vision over a three-year period after surgery compared to standard lenses. Researchers followed 236 children to measure their vision, eye pressure, and other factors.
