First seen Jan 24, 2026 · Last updated May 11, 2026 · Updated 17 times

Summary

This study tests if applying tranexamic acid (TXA) directly to the uterus during a planned C-section can reduce surgical bleeding. About 112 women having their first or second C-section will be randomly assigned to receive either TXA or a placebo. The main goal is to see if TXA shortens the time needed to close the uterus and reduces the need for extra stitches to stop bleeding.
