First seen May 15, 2026 · Last updated May 23, 2026 · Updated 1 time
Summary
This study tests whether a gel made from phenytoin, a seizure medication known to cause gum overgrowth, can help treat receding gums without surgery. About 30 adults with gum recession who do not want surgery will apply the gel or a placebo for several weeks. The goal is to see if the gel can safely improve gum attachment and thickness.
