First seen Jan 11, 2026 · Last updated Jun 17, 2026 · Updated 23 times

Summary

This study looked at whether toothpastes with special ingredients like propolis or probiotics can help reduce bad breath. Fifty-two healthy young adults with mild to moderate bad breath used one of four toothpastes for 14 days. Researchers measured breath odor using a smell test and a device to see if any toothpaste worked better than standard fluoride toothpaste.
