New toothpaste battles mouth bacteria in major study

NCT ID NCT07458464

Summary

This study aims to see if a new toothpaste containing stannous fluoride is better at reducing harmful bacteria in the mouth than a common fluoride toothpaste. About 100 adults with existing plaque and mild gum inflammation will brush with one of the two randomly assigned toothpastes. Researchers will measure bacteria levels on teeth, gums, tongue, cheeks, and in saliva to compare the effects.
