Dental researchers test new socket seal to save jawbone
NCT ID NCT06029322
Summary
This study aims to see which of two collagen materials works better to seal a tooth socket after extraction. The goal is to better preserve the jawbone and gum tissue for patients who may need a dental implant later. Eighteen patients, each having two teeth removed, will have one socket sealed with a collagen matrix and the other with a standard collagen membrane. Researchers will measure gum thickness and healing over four months to compare the results.
