Can your own tooth save your jawbone? new study tests reusing extracted teeth as grafts

NCT ID NCT06457373

Summary

This study aims to see if processed tooth material from a donor (allograft) works as well as processed material from the patient's own extracted tooth (autograft) for preserving jawbone after wisdom tooth surgery. Researchers will enroll 40 healthy adults who need both lower wisdom teeth removed. They will measure bone height and width, swelling, pain, and healing at the extraction sites to compare the two graft materials.
