Gentler tooth nerve treatment shows promise, could save more of your natural tooth
NCT ID NCT07355140
Summary
This study tested if a gentler procedure could work as well as a standard one for treating a severely inflamed tooth nerve. 43 adults with painful, cavity-damaged back teeth were randomly assigned to get either the gentler 'vital pulp therapy' (which tries to save the living nerve) or the standard 'root canal treatment' (which removes the nerve). Researchers checked their teeth for pain and healing on X-rays over one year to see which treatment worked better.
