Scientists search for clues in tooth infections

NCT ID NCT06023901

Summary

This study aimed to understand the biological differences between two common dental infections: apical periodontitis (tooth root infection) and chronic periodontitis (gum disease). Researchers collected blood and fluid samples from 185 people, including those with infections and healthy volunteers. They measured specific inflammation markers to see how they relate to the severity of each condition.
