Laser vs. sonic: the battle to save infected teeth
NCT ID NCT06991803
Summary
This study tested five different methods for cleaning infected root canals to see which works best for healing large bone infections around the tooth. Researchers treated 132 patients with infected lower premolar teeth, using techniques ranging from manual tools to lasers and sonic devices. They measured healing one year later using X-rays to see which cleaning method led to the best bone repair and smallest remaining infection.
