Your old tooth could save your jawbone

NCT ID NCT07267637

Summary

This study tests whether ground-up particles from a patient's own extracted tooth can help preserve jawbone after tooth removal. Twenty patients in Yemen who needed teeth extracted had the processed tooth material placed in the empty socket. Researchers followed them for six months using 3D scans to see if this method maintained bone height, width, and density as a natural, potentially cheaper alternative to standard bone grafts.
