Toe-Walking kids get muscle check with new ultrasound technique
NCT ID NCT07163520
First seen Nov 01, 2025 · Last updated May 15, 2026 · Updated 27 times
Summary
This study looked at 46 children aged 4 to 12—some who walk on their toes and some who don't—to see if their calf muscles and Achilles tendons are stiffer. Researchers used a special ultrasound called shear-wave elastography to measure stiffness without any needles or radiation. The goal was to learn more about the muscle changes in idiopathic toe walking, not to test a treatment.
