New hope for rare brain disease: trial tests repurposed drug to stop relapses

NCT ID NCT06452537

Summary

This study is testing if the drug tocilizumab is safe and effective for controlling Myelin Oligodendrocyte Glycoprotein Antibody-Associated Disease (MOGAD), a rare autoimmune condition that attacks the brain and nerves. It will involve about 102 participants aged 12 and older who have had recent disease relapses. The main goal is to see if tocilizumab can delay or prevent future attacks compared to standard care.
