New hope for stubborn crystal arthritis that defies standard drugs

Summary
This study is testing whether a medication called tocilizumab can help people with a chronic, painful form of calcium crystal arthritis (CPPD) that hasn't improved with usual treatments. About 80 adults in France will receive monthly infusions of either tocilizumab or a placebo for three months. Researchers will measure changes in joint pain, swelling, and quality of life to see if blocking a specific inflammation signal (IL-6) provides relief.
