Summary
This study tested a simple, low-cost program to help adults in Mumbai, India, quit smoking or using smokeless tobacco. The program trained community health workers to give brief advice and support to patients, using a mobile app and WhatsApp group for ongoing help. Researchers wanted to see if this approach was more effective than usual care in helping people quit for good.
