One-Shot hope for failed back surgery pain

NCT ID NCT00385086

Summary

This study tested whether a single injection of a medication called infliximab could reduce sciatica pain caused by scar tissue that forms after back surgery. It involved 38 adults who still had significant pain more than 6 months after a discectomy, despite other treatments failing. The goal was to see if blocking a specific protein (TNF-alpha) involved in scar formation could cut pain in half within 10 days.
