First seen Nov 01, 2025 · Last updated Apr 29, 2026 · Updated 24 times

Summary

This study tests if a gentle brain stimulation technique called TMS can help people with misophonia tolerate trigger sounds better. Sixty adults who are very sensitive to specific sounds will receive two TMS sessions while their brain activity, heart rate, and sweat levels are measured. The goal is to see if TMS can reduce the intense irritation or anger that certain sounds cause.
