Cheaper jaw joints put to the test: virtual planning may cut costs without cutting quality

NCT ID NCT07373184

First seen Feb 01, 2026 · Last updated Jun 13, 2026 · Updated 18 times

Summary

This study reviews past surgeries of 30 patients who received a total jaw joint replacement to see if a standard, less expensive prosthesis can be planned virtually to achieve the same good results as a custom-made one. Researchers will use old X-rays to compare planned positions with actual outcomes. The goal is to make high-quality treatment more affordable.
