Zapping jaw pain away? new device study offers hope for TMD sufferers

NCT ID NCT07288411

Summary

This small pilot study is testing whether a device that gently stimulates a nerve in the neck can help reduce jaw pain and improve mood in premenopausal women with temporomandibular disorders (TMD). Participants will use the device twice a week for eight weeks while researchers measure their pain levels, mood, and brain activity. The goal is to see if this non-invasive approach can offer a new way to manage TMD symptoms.
