First seen Feb 01, 2026 · Last updated May 10, 2026 · Updated 6 times

Summary

This study tested a skin ointment called tirbanibulin on adults with actinic keratosis, a common sun-related skin condition that can turn into skin cancer. The goal was to see if the ointment works safely on larger areas of the face or scalp, up to 100 square centimeters. About 280 participants applied the ointment or a placebo, and researchers tracked how many skin lesions cleared up over 57 days.
