Brain implant trial aims to turn down the volume on ringing ears

NCT ID NCT06641999

Summary

This study is testing a new, surgically implanted device designed to reduce the loudness of severe, chronic tinnitus (ringing in the ears). The device, placed behind the ear, sends electrical signals to the hearing nerve. Researchers will measure if the implant makes the tinnitus quieter and less bothersome for 16 adults over six months.
