Brain implant tested to silence severe ringing in ears
NCT ID NCT03988699
Summary
This early study tested the safety and initial effectiveness of a new device surgically implanted to treat severe, chronic tinnitus (ringing in the ears). Nine adults with severe, long-term tinnitus that hadn't improved with other treatments participated. The goal was to see if the implant could safely reduce the burden and severity of their tinnitus symptoms.
