First seen Jun 26, 2026 · Last updated Jun 27, 2026 · Updated 1 time
Summary
This study tests whether a topical eye drop called timolol can help surgical wounds on the scalp heal faster and look better after Mohs surgery. About 40 adults will either use timolol or standard wound care. Researchers will check healing and scar appearance at 4, 8, and 12 weeks.
What this could mean
Our plain-language read of the trial. This is informational only — not medical advice or a prediction.
Active substance
topical timolol
What this could lead to
If it works, this could offer a simple, low-cost way to help scalp wounds heal faster and look better after Mohs surgery.
What could go wrong
This is a small, early-phase trial with only 40 people. The results may not apply to everyone, and timolol might not work better than standard care.
