Can a simple Hand-Grip test identify who needs valve repair?

NCT ID NCT07197021

First seen Nov 01, 2025 · Last updated May 15, 2026 · Updated 27 times

Summary

This study tests whether a minimally invasive heart valve repair (TEER) plus standard medications can reduce hospitalizations over two years in people with moderate mitral regurgitation that becomes severe during hand-grip stress. About 300 participants will be randomly assigned to receive either TEER with medication or medication alone. The goal is to see if fixing the valve early helps prevent heart failure worsening.
