First human test: can your own immune cells fight advanced cancer?
NCT ID NCT05417750
Summary
This early-stage study tested the safety of a personalized immunotherapy for people with advanced solid tumors. Doctors collected immune cells from patients' tumors, grew more of them in a lab, and then reinfused them back into 43 participants to see if they could fight the cancer. The main goal was to find a safe dose and understand side effects, while also checking if the treatment showed any signs of slowing tumor growth.
