Could a once-daily antibiotic dose beat the standard twice-daily for tough infections?

NCT ID NCT07258225

First seen Jan 08, 2026 · Last updated Apr 30, 2026 · Updated 10 times

Summary

This study compares a once-daily dose of the antibiotic tigecycline to the usual twice-daily schedule in 86 critically ill adults with multidrug-resistant infections. The goal is to see if the simpler regimen works just as well at clearing the infection and is safer, with fewer side effects like high bilirubin levels. Participants are treated in the ICU and monitored for cure, treatment failure, or indeterminate outcomes.
