Drug tested to ease debilitating muscle disease in young people

NCT ID NCT02858908

Summary

This study tested whether a drug called Tideglusib is safe and helpful for adolescents and adults with a severe, early-onset form of myotonic dystrophy, a genetic muscle-wasting disease. Sixteen participants aged 12-45 received the drug to see if it could improve muscle function, walking speed, grip strength, and overall symptoms. The main goal was to check for side effects and see how the drug behaves in the body.
