New heart valve procedure tested for High-Risk patients

NCT ID NCT03039855

Summary

This study tested a new, less invasive procedure to replace a leaky mitral heart valve in people who were too high-risk for traditional open-heart surgery. Doctors inserted a new artificial valve through a small tube, aiming to reduce the valve leakage and improve patients' symptoms and quality of life. The research followed 157 patients to see if the procedure was safe and worked well.
