Summary
This study tested a traditional Chinese herbal drink called Tiaozhong-Yiqi Decoction (TZYD) in 80 adults with substance withdrawal syndrome. Half took the herbal medicine twice daily for 3 months plus routine care, while the other half received only routine care. The goal was to see if the herb could reduce withdrawal symptoms and improve quality of life, and to explore how it might work on the brain and immune system.
