First seen Apr 23, 2026 · Last updated May 15, 2026 · Updated 4 times

Summary

This study tests whether a flavored pain-relief spray or a serving of ice cream can reduce throat pain and improve voice quality after thyroid removal surgery. About 100 adults who have never had neck surgery will receive one of these treatments or a placebo five hours after their operation. Researchers will measure pain levels and voice changes six hours after surgery to see which option works best.
