New scan could spot hidden thyroid cancers without needle biopsy
NCT ID NCT07163806
First seen Jun 27, 2026 · Last updated Jun 27, 2026
Summary
This study looks at whether a special PET/CT scan can help doctors tell if an unexpected thyroid spot is cancerous. About 88 adults who have a thyroid finding on a routine scan will be studied. The goal is to see if the scan's measurements match up with ultrasound and biopsy results, which could lead to fewer unnecessary procedures.
