Needle heat therapy tested as gentler option for thyroid lumps

NCT ID NCT07237373

Summary

This study is testing whether a minimally invasive heat treatment can safely shrink benign thyroid nodules and improve patients' quality of life. 100 adults with symptomatic nodules will receive radiofrequency ablation, where a needle heats and destroys the nodule tissue. Researchers will track changes in nodule size, symptoms, and quality of life over a year to see if this outpatient procedure is a good alternative to surgery.
