New drug trial aims to shrink bulging eyes in thyroid disease

Summary

This study is testing whether an investigational drug called ZL-1109 can safely reduce eye bulging and inflammation in people with active, moderate-to-severe Thyroid Eye Disease. About 99 Chinese participants will be randomly assigned to receive either the drug or a placebo for 24 weeks, with longer follow-up available. The main goal is to see how many people experience at least 2mm reduction in eye protrusion without worsening in the other eye.
