Could a smarter approach to radioiodine reduce side effects in thyroid cancer?
NCT ID NCT04290663
First seen Nov 01, 2025 · Last updated May 09, 2026 · Updated 20 times
Summary
This study compares two ways of treating intermediate-risk thyroid cancer: giving everyone radioactive iodine (RAI) versus using a blood test and scan to decide who really needs it. About 476 adults with papillary, follicular, or Hürthle cell thyroid cancer will take part. The goal is to see if the guided approach works just as well while reducing unnecessary side effects.
