Study tests if some thyroid cancer patients can skip radioactive treatment

Summary

This large trial is comparing two approaches for patients with intermediate-risk thyroid cancer after surgery. One group receives standard radioactive iodine treatment. The other group only gets this treatment if specific blood tests and scans suggest it's needed. The goal is to see if the more personalized approach works as well while potentially reducing side effects and improving quality of life.
