Black seed oil study probes gut microbiome changes
NCT ID NCT07450807
First seen Mar 10, 2026 · Last updated May 01, 2026 · Updated 6 times
Summary
This study looked at how thymoquinone, the main active compound in black seed oil, changes the bacteria living in the gut. Eight healthy adults took black seed oil capsules, and researchers measured changes in their gut microbiome and urine. The goal was to understand if this supplement could help with immune response and gut healing, but the study was small and only for healthy people, not patients.
