Tiny needles tested to boost Women's fertility

NCT ID NCT05277948

Summary

This study tested whether a special type of acupuncture, called a thumbtack needle, could improve ovarian function in women with low ovarian reserve. 240 women were randomly assigned to receive either the real or a fake (sham) needle treatment for two menstrual cycles. Researchers measured hormone levels, egg counts, and tracked pregnancy rates for six months to see if the treatment helped.
