Acupuncture-style needles may boost fertility in women with low egg supply

NCT ID NCT05277948

First seen Feb 28, 2026 · Last updated May 06, 2026 · Updated 8 times

Summary

This study tested whether using small thumbtack-shaped needles (a type of acupuncture) can improve ovarian function in women with diminished ovarian reserve (low egg supply). 240 women aged 18-40 received either the needle treatment or a sham (fake) version. Researchers measured changes in hormone levels and egg count to see if the needles help control the condition.
