Could a Placenta-Derived implant ease thumb arthritis pain?

NCT ID NCT07435571

Summary

This study is testing whether a processed, sterile tissue from a human umbilical cord can work as a cushioning implant during surgery for thumb base arthritis. Researchers want to see if placing this membrane in the joint reduces pain after surgery and improves thumb movement, grip strength, and hand function. The study will follow 22 participants for one year after their surgery to measure these outcomes.
