Summary

This study compares two surgical treatments for thumb arthritis (rhizarthrosis) in 50 adults over 45. One group will receive a new thumb joint replacement (prosthesis), while the other gets the standard bone removal surgery (trapezectomy). The goal is to see which approach leads to better short-term recovery and pain relief.
