Thumb arthritis surgery showdown: implant vs. removal
NCT ID NCT06078189
Summary
This study compares two common surgeries for painful thumb arthritis (rhizarthrosis). It will see if a joint replacement (arthroplasty) helps people recover hand function faster than the standard procedure of removing a small wrist bone (trapezectomy). Researchers are recruiting 50 patients in France who have not gotten relief from non-surgical treatments like splints and injections.
