Clot-Busting drugs tested to prevent deaths from lung clots

NCT ID NCT07374978

Summary

This study tested whether giving clot-busting drugs (thrombolysis) to patients with severe lung clots (pulmonary embolism) could reduce deaths within 30 days. Researchers compared the drugs against standard blood thinners in 100 patients who were at high risk but had low risk of bleeding. They tracked deaths and serious bleeding events for one month to see if the benefits outweighed the risks.
