New hope for tough lung cancers: experimental combo targets telomeres to restore immunotherapy response

Summary
This phase 3 study tests whether a new drug called THIO, given before the immunotherapy cemiplimab, can help people with advanced non-small cell lung cancer whose disease has worsened after two prior treatments. About 300 adults will be randomly assigned to receive either the THIO-cemiplimab combination or standard chemotherapy. The main goal is to see if the combination helps people live longer.
